How many days should I plan for my trip to the Amazon?
Kanaq Hotel is located in Leticia centre and is easy to get to from the airport at all times. We think the Amazon has a lot to offer and consider a stay of three nights in Leticia a bare minimum. You can explore very interesting destinations nearby with day trips form Kanaq Hotel.
However, we strongly recommend exploring the depths of the Amazon from a rainforest lodge and take the time to experience the real magic of this marvelous ecosystem. Many of these lodges are located at several hours from Leticia by boat. Flight arrival and departure times also don´t always adjust to the boat schedule, which can result in "lost time". We think it´s best to inquire with your lodge of choice about tbe best flights before buying any.

No, we don´t have hot water in the showers.

Where can I find icecream in Leticia?
Can I expect any wildlife in Leticia?
Some people truely believe you will find caimans and jaguars behind people´s houses and stop lights in Leticia. They are saddened by the amount of concrete and traffic in the city. We think Leticia has a lot of things to offer, but certainly don´t look for a lot of wildlife!
The Santander park (Parque de los Loros) offers the daily spectacle of the arrival or hundreds of thousand of green parrots and in a certain season also swifts around sunset. The park has a pond and if you are lucky, you may see some other birds, fish, a lizard, snake or heron.
