Our number one recommendation is a stay at Casa Gregorio lodge in the Tikuna indigenous community of San Martin de Amacayacu  A bare minimum is  2 nights, much better is 3 nights and most comforable is 4 or 5 nights. You need to travel to Casa Gregorio on the public express boat (aproximately 2 hours), which departs 4 times a day from Leticia harbour. Seats need to be reserved and there is limited availability at times.  The more time there is for planning, the better, but last-minuto options are certainly available.
